How to resize Finder window permanently in Mac OS X

By Chaitanya | Filed Under: Mac

Ever wondered why the Finder window opens in a small size? even though you have adjusted the size last time you opened it. Yeah, it’s annoying as you have to adjust it before you can start looking for your files and folders.

To fix the window size permanently, you just need to do this little trick.

  1. Open Finder and adjust the size as per your wish.
  2. Close the Finder window.
  3. Now, this is the main step. Press the Option key and right click (Control+click, or a Two-Finger click on trackpad) on the Finder. You would see a list of the options, click on relaunch.

Finder Relaunch to Set default Size
That’s it. From now on whenever you open the finder, it would be in the size you have set.
