How to Change the Position of Dock on your screen

By Chaitanya | Filed Under: Mac

By default the dock is located at the bottom of your screen, however you can move it to the left or right on your screen as per your convenience. Here we will see two ways to move the Dock to left or right on your screen.

Move dock to left or right

The simple and easiest way to customise your dock is through the System Preferences. Open System Preferences, to open it press Command + Space, type System Preferences and hit return. This would open up the System Preferences window, click on Dock, then choose left, right or bottom in “Position On Screen” option.

You can also change the position of Dock by dragging to the desired position. Press and hold Shift key and grab the dock from its handle (the separator line you see on dock) and drag it to the left or right and drop it there.
